Cultivating Awareness: Weekly Meditation Group
January 13 - March 10, 2026
We warmly welcome you to Cultivating Awareness, a weekly meditation group grounded in the teachings on Awakening Dignity as presented by Phakchok Rinpoche. This course offers a supportive space for both beginners and experienced practitioners to establish, refresh, and sustain a living meditation practice.
Drawing on the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, our focus is on calm-abiding (shamatha) meditation as a foundation for clarity, presence, and confidence in everyday life. Awakening Dignity emphasizes meditation not as a technique to perfect, but as a way of reconnecting with our innate human goodness, embodied awareness, and natural capacity for care.
Each session includes brief guidance, a period of meditation practice, and time for open discussion and questions. The class is practice-focused, with space to explore how meditation meets the realities of our lives—working with distraction, emotion, and relationship in a grounded and human way.
This weekly group is open to all, regardless of background or prior experience. Whether you are new to meditation or returning to practice with fresh intention, you are welcome to join this shared exploration of awareness, dignity, and the mind’s potential.
Participants interested in deepening their understanding of meditation are encouraged to explore additional resources and online courses offered through Samye Institute.
