Awakening Dignity: A Weekend Retreat
With Phakchok Rinpoche and Sophie (Shu-chin) Wu
July 5 - 6, 2025
We are delighted to offering the first-of-its-kind weekend retreat based on Awakening Dignity: A Guide to Living a Life of Deep Fulfillment, led by co-authors Phakchok Rinpoche and Sophie (Shu-chin) Wu. This will be the first of Phakchok Rinpoche’s series of masterclasses at Samye NY this summer, suitable for absolute beginners but also highly recommended for all students. This Path of Dignity provides an essential foundation for those who wish to study the Path of Transformation as well as the Path of Realization.
The notion of dignity is central to living a meaningful and fulfilling life, especially in today’s world, where many struggle with self-doubt, low self-esteem, and feelings of anxiety or dissatisfaction. In Awakening Dignity, Phakchok Rinpoche draws from Tibetan Buddhist wisdom to show that dignity is an inherent quality of wholeness and purity within us all.By trusting in this truth, we can overcome the pervasive sense of not being enough and instead face life with confidence, clarity, and compassion. Through reflections, examples, and simple meditations—such as embracing adversity and practicing compassion—Rinpoche will offer practical tools to embody and awaken our fundamental dignity.
